Orange to Hold Pledge Drive For Uplifting Athletes Saturday

The Syracuse chapter of Uplifting Athletes will be holding a Touchdown and Turnover Pledge Drive on October 22 versus fellow chapter Clemson to shine a spotlight on the rare disease community.

Orange fans can tackle rare diseases, by making a pledge for each touchdown scored and turnover forced against Clemson. Then watch and cheer as each Syracuse big play helps raise money to support the rare disease community.

Proceeds from the Syracuse Chapter 2022 Touchdown and Turnover Pledge Drive support Uplifting Athletes and its commitment to create Uplifting Leaders, engage in Uplifting Experiences, fund rare disease research, and expand rare disease awareness.

The Syracuse Chapter started tackling rare diseases in 2013 when it joined Uplifting Athletes. The Syracuse Chapter serves the Rare Disease Community in honor of Rob Long, a former Orange punter and team captain. Long was diagnosed with a rare malignant brain tumor and battled through his rare disease to make a full recovery. Long continues to be a strong rare disease advocate as the Executive Director for Uplifting Athletes.
