Doesn’t seem we’re that far away

Tre’Davious White, two others start Bills training camp on PUP list

Buffalo Bills defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier gave us the best injury update to date as of Monday on cornerback Tre’Davious White.

Following the team’s bye week and ahead of facing the Green Bay Packers in Week 8, Frazier said that White is making good progress regarding his knee injury. So much so, that it doesn’t feel like it will be much longer until White’s return.

“(White) is making great progress, and we’re looking forward to when he can go out there with our normal players and playing in a game,” Frazier said via video conference. “It doesn’t seem like we’re that far away from that, but we’ll see how this week goes. But so far, so good.”

Frazier did make sure to mention that the coaching staff is working with team doctors, first and foremost. Still, Frazier’s update is a welcomed one in Buffalo.

An All-Pro and fan favorite, White tore his ACL on Thanksgiving Day last season.

Last week, the Bills activated him to return to the practice field prior to facing the Kansas City Chiefs. However, he did not play.

From that date, the team has 21 days to fully bring him back on the 53-man roster or else he will land back on injury designation for an extended period.

Considering that and Frazier’s comment, White could be back in the lineup by the team’s next game on Sunday Night Football against the Packers. If not, the following one versus the New York Jets would then seem likely.

Bills Wire will continue to provide updates on White’s status as information is made available.
