THE GAME: The Washington football team (7-2 overall, 3-2 Pac-12) travels south to face Oregon (8-1, 6-0) Saturday at Autzen Stadium. The Dawgs and Ducks square off at 4:00 p.m. PT, and the game will air on FOX television. The Huskies returned to the national rankings this week, earning the No. 24 spot in the AP Top 25 and No. 23 the coaches’ poll, while Oregon is ranked No. 6 in each.
 
QUICK HITTERS: Michael Penix Jr. broke multiple UW records in the win over Arizona, including most notably, the marks for single-game passing yards (516), completions (36) and total offense (529) … Penix enters this week No. 1 in the nation in passing yards and passing yards per game; and No. 2 in total offense and completions per game … Penix passed for 300 or more yards in the first eight games this season. the longest such streak in UW history, but saw that streak broken when he passed for 298 vs. Oregon State in game nine … only two UW QBs have posted more 300-yard passing games, over their entire careers, than Penix has in his first nine games: Cody Pickett (14) and Jake Browning (9) … WR Rome Odunze notched four straight 100-yard receiving games this year (games 4-7), making him the first in UW history to do that … he got a fifth 100-yard game (non-consecutive) vs. OSU … through nine games, the Huskies have had seven 100-yard receiving performances, from four different players: Rome Odunze (5), Giles Jackson, Jalen McMillan & Ja’Lynn Polk … UW has scored on its first possession in eight of nine this season … UW has gone 3-and-out just nine times in 99 offensive possessions this year … six true freshmen have played for the UW this season: DL Jayvon Parker, CB Jayvion Green, PK Grady Gross, WR Denzel Boston, S Tristan Dunn & EDGE Lance Holtzclaw … UW enters the Oregon game first in the NCAA-FBS in passing offense, as well as No. 10 in total offense and No. 14 in scoring offense … the UW offense is also No. 2 in the nation in first downs and third-down conversion percentage … the Huskies are also 19th in the nation in sacks, and fourth in sacks allowed … Washington has already far surpassed last year’s 12-game, season totals for both points and touchdowns … UW has 347 points and 44 TDs in 2022, after compling just 258 and 32, respectively, last year.
