Vikings’ Andrew Booth Jr. officially declared out for the season

The Minnesota Vikings second-round pick Andrew Booth Jr. had surgery on his meniscus on Monday and the outcome wasn’t going to be known until later due to the nature of the surgery.

On Tuesday, NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported that Booth Jr. was officially out for the season.

The news shouldn’t come as a big surprise, as a meniscus injury is better to fully repair than to trim and have him come back quickly. The usual timeline for a full repair is between 4-6 months.

The good news though is that Cameron Dantzler looks to be returning from injured reserve soon as he works his way back for an ankle injury. They could use him back in the fold so they don’t have to play their depth guys as much.
