Arkansas lands another former Baylor defensive back from portal

The Arkansas secondary continues to add quality depth after former Baylor safety Alfahiym Walcott committed to the program on Saturday.

He’s the second Baylor transfer to commit to the Hogs this week – his teammate Lorando Johnson committed last Friday.

Walcott is a 6-2, 219-pound safety that was Baylor’s second leading tackler last season. He finished with 82 tackles (10 tackles for loss), two sacks, three forced fumbles, four pass break-ups and an interception in 13 games for the Bears.

The Wilmington, North Carolina native was a three-star composite junior college prospect with offers from Auburn, SMU and Arkansas State before eventually committing to play for the Bears in the 2020 recruiting cycle.

His commitment is the seventh from the portal in this cycle, and the second defensive commitment for coordinator Travis Williams and co-defensive coordinator Marcus Woodson.

Walcott’s commitment is huge for the Arkansas secondary who has lost key contributors like Myles Slusher, Simeon Blair and former All-American Jalen Catalon.
