Hawkeye brass supporting mediocrity with Brian Ferentz

Brian Ferentz’s self evaluation, thoughts on job status

Let’s call it how it is, the Iowa football program is completely settling for mediocrity with this new amended contract for offensive coordinator Brian Ferentz.

On the surface, the big headlines of this news should be somewhat hopeful developments for Iowa fans. Ferentz received a pay cut after a horrendous year, and an ultimatum was issued to Ferentz. If he does not hit the program’s goals, he will be gone! That should make any Iowa fan happy right? Finally, some action!

Now you know Iowa fans that seven or eight wins quite literally is good enough. The status quo of being just pretty good is A-okay! Absolutely no need to strive for anything more. Just the bare minimum, and that’s exactly what that point total average is. The bar is resting calmly on the floor at Kinnick.

Mind you, that quota isn’t just for Ferentz’s offense specifically. No, that’s the entire team. Defensive touchdowns included!

You know who…
