Aggies 2023 class focused on quality over quantity

5-star 2023 EDGE Chandavian Bradley has Aggies in “final 3”

For all the criticism Jimbo Fisher and Texas A&M have received coming off of an underwhelming 2022 season, the program signed the 12th ranked recruiting class in the 2023 cycle and added key talent through the transfer portal, all while players such as safety Demani Richardson, linebacker Edgerren Cooper, Offensive lineman Layden Robinson, and of course, wide receiver Ainias Smith have announced their return for 2023.

On course to make a drastic rebound from their 5-7 finish last season, their aforementioned 2023 recruiting class only signed 19 players, but according to 247Sports, the classes’ average ranking of 91.60 ranked 9th highest in the country. A sign that Jimbo Fisher focused on quality over quantity in order to bolster his roster with immediate starting potential and instant depth.

What makes the class even more impressive is the fact that three signees are ranked No.1 in their position group, including David Hicks Jr. (5-Star, Defensive line) Chase Bisontis (4-Star, Offensive line), and Tyler White (3-Star, Punter).

With a majority of the historic 2022 recruiting class returning next season, Texas A&M will have a solid mix of experience and talent in key areas while bolstering their offensive line and wide receiver core, giving newly minted offensive coordinator Bobby Petrino a lot to work with next season.
