Joe Burrow and Jason Derulo to invest in pro women’s volleyball team

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow has invested in a rising pro sport.

Burrow and his parents, Jimmy and Robin, announced in December that they had become founding partners in an upstart professional women’s volleyball league called the Pro Volleyball Federation.

Burrow released a statement, via ESPN:

“My family and I are thrilled to put our support behind this great opportunity for world-class volleyball athletes. No one ever achieves greatness without first being provided an opportunity. Pro Volleyball Federation is opening the door, and we are excited to see these athletes chase their dreams and goals.”

More recently, Derulo talked about the development:

The league, which plans to start play in 2024, also has names like former pro quarterback Trent Dilfer involved.

As of now, there are no professional women’s volleyball leagues in the United States, with Burrow’s involvement set to change that.

This is another off-field venture for Burrow, who also recently teamed up with other NFL players to purchase a plot of farmland.
