Offensive lineman David Quessenberry is back in the fold with the Buffalo Bills.
According to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, Quessenberry has agreed to terms with the team.
Quessenberry, 32, originally signed in Buffalo last offseason via a one-year deal. The terms of his latest contract have yet to be announced.
Despite his re-signing, Quessenberry struggled during his first season in Buffalo. Regardless, bringing him back to compete for a position at tackle, potentially again as the backup to both Dion Dawkins and Spencer Brown makes sense because of his familiarity with the team’s scheme on offense.
In 2021 prior to joining the Bills, Quessenberry graded out favorably on Pro Football Focus. He had an impressive 79.1 overall grade that year, the 18th best for any tackle in the NFL at that time.
Last season, his PFF grade dropped to 59.3.
With Buffalo, Quessenberry appeared in 16 total games and made three starts, mostly filling in for Dawkins and Brown. Quessenberry himself also dealt with injuries.
While exact contract numbers for Quessenberry have yet to be announced, it’s likely he will still have to earn his roster spot and his deal won’t lock him into a final roster spot.
Quessenberry will likely have to hold off Tommy Doyle and potentially another addition or two over the summer for that roster slot.
