TALLAHASSEE – Florida State football will again be on a national stage this week as the 2023 NFL Draft is held beginning Thursday night in Kansas City, Missouri.
The Seminoles have produced at least one pick in 39 consecutive NFL Drafts. That streak, which began in 1984, is the eighth-longest active streak in the nation. Florida State has 293 NFL Draft picks in its history, including 202 during the 39-year streak.
FSU’s 46 first-round draft picks are tied for 10th among all collegiate programs nationally and rank as the second-highest total in the ACC. Florida State ranks sixth nationally with 45 first-round picks since 1973 and 25 first-round selections since 2000.
The Seminoles hold the ACC record for most draft picks in a single year with 11 in both 2013 and 2015. In 2015, FSU became the first team in the common-draft era to have every offensive position selected in a single year. On defense, 34 FSU defensive backs have been selected in the last 35 years, including 19 in the first two rounds.
Live coverage of the 2023 NFL Draft will be aired on ESPN, ABC and NFL Network. The first round begins at 8 p.m. Thursday. Friday features rounds two and three beginning at 7 p.m. before rounds four through seven conclude the draft Saturday beginning at noon.
