Pac-12 Network To Televise 126th Meeting Between Golden Bears, Cardinal

BERKELEY – The 126th Big Game between California and Stanford on Saturday, Nov. 18, will be televised by Pac-12 Network and kick off from Stanford Stadium at 3:30 pm PDT.

The rivalry between the Bay Area schools dates back to 1892 and is the sixth-longest active running series between two Football Bowl Subdivision teams. The series is also the sixth-longest overall between two FBS programs and the second-longest in the West. The Big Game has been determined by a touchdown or less 55 times and on five occasions has been won on the final play, including arguably the most storied play in college football history in The Play in 1982.

Cal has won three of the last four games between the teams including a 27-20 victory in the 125th Big Game in Berkeley in the most recent meeting last November. Cal has also won each of the last two games played at Stanford Stadium including a 41-11 victory over the Cardinal in a record-setting performance on The Farm in 2021. Cal produced a Big Game-record 636 yards of total offense in the 2021 win, including 352 yards on the ground, while the 30-point margin of victory was its largest since a 41-6 victory in Berkeley in 2004.

Stanford leads the all-time series, 65-49-11.

“Pac-12 Tailgate” will also be in attendance to air a half-hour show prior to the contest that will celebrate the sights, sounds, traditions and fanfare of the 126th Big Game.

Cal (3-6, 1-5 Pac-12) and Stanford (3-6, 2-5) both play this Saturday before their Nov. 18 meeting on The Farm with the Golden Bears hosting Washington State (4-5, 1-5) and the Cardinal visiting No. 12/13 Oregon State (7-2, 4-2).

The kickoff time and television broadcast network for Cal’s 2023 regular-season finale at UCLA (Nov. 25) is scheduled to be announced either six or 12 days in advance. The contest will also be Cal’s final regular-season game as a member of the Pac-12 and final scheduled trip to the Rose Bowl.
