Gabe Davis was Player of the Game despite no targets

You don’t see or hear this too often.

Despite not having a single catch… no, not even a single target on a pass from quarterback Josh Allen against the New York Jets in Week 11, Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Jpe Brady had the highest of praise for receiver Gabe Davis.

After the game that was–A 32-6 win in Brady’s debut as OC–Brady called Davis the “Player of the Game” for the Bills offense in Week 11.

“Gabe Davis had zero catches in the game but in my mind was the Player of the Game,” Brady said. “It was a selfless mindset what he was doing in the run game, what he was doing in the pass game to get guys open.”

And that praise was not just coming from Brady. Head coach Sean McDermott noted Davis during his post-game press conference as well.

“I’ll tip my cap to those guys,” McDermott said via video conference. “It’s not easy as a wide receiver to go and get those numbers and still feel good about things. Stef and Gabe were phenomenal, the entire game.”

While that might be so, the Bills (6-5) will probably appreciate some numbers out of Davis in their upcoming matchup against a talented Philadelphia Eagles (9-1) team.
