Former Cal Punter Earns Distinction For Second Time In Last Three Campaigns

Current Dallas Cowboys and former Cal punter Bryan Anger was named second-team All-Pro by the Associated Press on Friday. Anger, who punted for the Golden Bears from 2007-11, was an AP second-team All-Pro pick for the second time in the last three seasons (also in 2021). He was also chosen for the 2024 Pro Bowl Games earlier this month and is one of 11 former Cal players affiliated with NFL playoff teams, including five on active rosters.
 
Bryan Anger – P (Dallas)
– Earned second-team AP All-Pro and Pro Bowl selections for the second time in 2023 for a Cowboys’ squad that posted a 12-5 regular-season record and is the NFC’s No. 2 playoff seed
– Second in the NFL during the 2023 regular season in net punting average (44.9) and third in yards per punt (51.4), with both being career bests
– Has played in 193 regular-season games in 12 NFL campaigns and posted averages of 46.8 yards per punt and 42.8 net yards per punt
– Holds Cal’s single-season record for yards per punt (45.6, 2010), has three of the top 10 seasons in school history and ranks fourth on the Golden Bears’ career list (43.5)
