Ohio State in-state 2025 target could be suspended over terrible rule

Multiple Ohio State commits to square off in Fridayโ€™s state title game

Across the country and in virtually every other state, high school football players are able to play in 7-vs.-7 tournaments without issues.

Unfortunately for Ohio State football safety target Trey McNutt, due to his participation in such events he could be forced to miss a few of his games this season. As first reported by 247Sports Steve Wiltfong, the 6-foot, 180-pound Shaker Heights star may have to sit out some of this senior season.

Honestly, itโ€™s a silly rule, one that is holding Ohio back in football. Other state also allow spring practices, something the Buckeye State also does not do. They also canโ€™t participate in pad events at camps.

McNutt complained about the rule as well, claiming โ€œitโ€™s taking control of the kids.โ€ Hard to argue against him, as this rule hurts more than it helps.

In some good news, the second-ranked safety and 37th overall player on the 247Sports composite is expected to take a spring visit to Columbus.
