Cardinals rookie wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. announces on social media he will wear No. 18

So it appears the Great Wait to see what uniform number Marvin Harrison Jr. will have is over — and he apparently did some negotiating to make it happen.

On his Instagram account, Harrison Jr. posted a simple picture of a red Cardinals jersey with his name and the No. 18. Of course, 18 was his college number, but linebacker BJ Ojulari had the number last year and it was important to him dating back to his LSU days, when he too wore 18 in college. Hoping that we find out the story of how that number swap went down (I can’t recall the specific players, but once the payoff was agreeing to pay for a player’s new outdoor space at his house.)

The rookies arrive Thursday at the Dignity Health Training Center for the first time, with rookie minicamp beginning Friday. So all the new guys will have their numbers. Fellow first-round pick Darius Robinson also used social media to announce he will be wearing No. 56.
