Nebraska football coach Matt Rhule speaks with the media after victory

Nebraska head football coach Matt Rhule and quarterback Dylan Raiola met with the media following the Huskers’ 14-7 victory over Rutgers. With the victory, Nebraska is now 5-1 overall and 2-1 in the Big Ten Conference.

The Huskers are now one win away from becoming bowl-eligible for the first time since the 2016 season. They have not been to a bowl since the 2016 Music City Bowl when the Cornhuskers lost to Tennessee.

Freshman quarterback Dylan Raiola struggled for the first time this season. In the victory over Rutgers, he only completed 13-of-27 passes for 134 yards with an interception while only completing 48.1% of his throws.

For the season, the freshman has thrown for 1,358 yards and nine touchdowns, with three interceptions. He’s also completed 66.9% of his passes.

Nebraska now enters the all-important bye week. The Cornhuskers will retake the field on Saturday, Oct. 19, when they travel to Bloomington to take on the Indiana Hoosiers.

Finally about the game, that was a close win. In many ways that was a tough day. Credit to Rutgers, credit to Greg Schiano. They did a ton of things against us, but we didn’t turn the ball over but once. We won the turnover battle, I thought it was as…
