Aggies make Top 8 for Wide receiver prospect, Anthony Evans

New projections tie two 2023 targets to A&M

Texas A&M is getting close and closer to potentially being one of the final schools listed for one of the top wide receiver prospects in the 2023 recruiting class, Anthony Evans. His announcement came on Saturday via Twitter, with the Aggies joining Georiga, Arkansas, Houston, UTSA, TCU, Oklahoma, and Penn State on the list.

After official visits to Oklahoma on June 3rd, Georgia on June 10th, and making the trip to College Station, Texas on June 17th, Evans has covered his bases so far, and with Texas A&M keeping close contact while also being the closest in distance from his home in Converse, Texas, you can bet that they’ll be gunning for the finish line as he enters his senior season and begins to cut down his list one by one.

From my recent profile evaluating Anthony Evans, I described his ability at the position:

Anthony Evans currently stands at 6-0, 172lbs, and checks all the fundamental boxes with the ability to separate, catch and outsmart defenders, all vital in order to have success at the next level. On tape, Evans shows great twitchiness at the line of scrimmage, beautifully quick footwork, and soft hands, and instantly shows his track speed, getting on top of his defenders as soon as the ball is snapped. He also displays a large catch radius and consistently utilizes his elite athleticism and length while making tough catches in press coverage.

Anthony Evans has a tough choice to make, as does every top prospect when deciding on their football future, but what he can work off of is the history at the wide receiver position for Texas A&M and the current class of talented wideouts who chose the Aggies over other top choices. Good luck, and we’ll hope to be hearing a “Whoop!” or “Gig ‘Em” very soon.
