Former Buffalo Bills returner Deonte Harty signs with Baltimore Ravens

Deonte Harty has found a new home after being a salary cap causality of the Buffalo Bills.

According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Harty heads to the Baltimore Ravens on a one-year deal.

Harty was released by the Bills in early March when the team made a slew of cuts to get under the 2024 salary cap. Harty’s release cleared $4.315 million.

While Harty did sign a three-year deal in Buffalo during the 2023 offseason, the way the contract was constructed, it was always a one-year deal.

Mostly used as a returner, Harty never got going as a playmaker out of the slot in Buffalo. Harty returned 26 punts – with 25 fair catches – for 323 yards, including his 96-yard touchdown against the Miami Dolphins.

Harty has averaged 25.2 yards per kickoff return in his career and previously earned All-Pro honors for his efforts with the New Orleans Saints.

With Harty and Nyheim Hines both being cut by the Bills this offseason, the team will need to address special teams this offseason.
