The Arizona Cardinals did not make the postseason, so their fans get to watch the playoffs with no true rooting interest. However, there are some Cardinals-related reasons to watch because every team left in the postseason has soon-to-be free agents and some could end up offseason targets for Arizona.
The Green Bay Packers and Philadelphia Eagles play the second of three playoff games on Sunday.
Below are some players on Philly’s roster scheduled to be free agents who could be potential targets for some of the Cardinals’ offseason needs.
Potentials Cardinals free agent targets on Eagles
EDGE Josh Sweat
Do the Cardinals need a pass rusher? Yes. Can Sweat get to the quarterback? Yes, he had eight sacks this season and has averaged 8.5 over the last three seasons. He was coached by Jonathan Gannon and Nick Rallis, so there is a connection, and he is 27 years old.
OT Mekhi Becton
The Cardinals could decide to move on from Jonah Williams. Becton started 15 games for the Eagles this season after 16 starts for the Jets in 2023, so he has been more durable over the last two seasons.
DT Milton Williams
Williams would be a very nice addition to the defensive line. He had five sacks this season and four in 2022 when Gannon was Philly’s defensive coordinator.
LB Zack Baun
He will probably cost more than what the Cardinals want to pay at inside linebacker, but he is an All-Pro. He had 151 tackles, 3.5 sacks, an interception, five forced fumbles and four pass breakups in 2024.
